@TheHungryBartender_ offers a look into the life of a furloughed restaurant employee during the midst of a global shutdown. After being laid off from a Union Square Hospitality Group flagship restaurant with a 20-pound bag of meat as severance, I created this account to show followers how their favorite bartender was surviving the pandemic.

A fellow former-USHG bartender quarantined in my studio with me for a month as we created meals from the leftovers dumped on us by our former employers. While the flagship Blue Smoke and Jazz Standard did not survive the pandemic, we did. Here’s how.

My objective with this account was to build an established dental practice’s Instagram account from the ground up. I was working as the Administrative Assistant for Smile in the City Dental Group when I asked the doctor who was running their social media accounts. She revealed that no one was currently spending time on their social media marketing (a lucrative tool).

My position quickly evolved as I continued to work as an Administrative Assistant while developing the practice’s role of Social Media Manager. I developed all content, took all photos, created all art, headed all marketing campaigns, spearheaded all patient-communication campaigns, and took charge in creating waivers and requiring all patients to sign photo releases for our social media usage.
